8th Grade Reading

Home Page

I am originally from Indiana, born and reared in Evansville.  I went to college at Purdue University for a BS in Audiology and Speech Sciences (a Speech Therapist).

I earned my MS in Education with a major in Mental Retardation and Reading.  I attended Ball State University to earn my Educational Specialist degree in leadership.

I have been teaching for a total of over 30 years in combination as a speech therapist, special education teacher, and general education teacher.  I love it all and would work in any of those positions again.  Obviously, now I am teaching reading at the 8th grade level.

About Me . . .

My Personal Interests . . .

· I have two great daughters that also live and work here in metro Atlanta ... Rebecca (a teacher) and Rhonda (a membership director for a city club).

· I love the South ... I first saw it when I was 17 years old and felt right at home even though it took another 23 years for me to make my home here in the South.  I still miss the snow and the cold weather ... you can see me without a coat during many of the Southern winter months and would wear open toe shoes all winter if it didn’t look so out of place.

· I am a grandmother to 3 great boys!  Avery will be 13 in early February, Adam will be 11 in November of this year, and Torin will be 6 in early March of this school year.
