Dr. Amaryllis N. Grogan, Assistant Principal

I am a native Atlantan and have been in the educational field for 26 years. I have been an assistant principal at TRMS since 1997. I am beginning to enjoy the middle grade child, since my background and experience has been mainly geared towards the elementary grade levels. The only thing I miss are the hugs, but somehow I find a chance to sneak a hug in every once in awhile, the students love it! I am convinced they are just "BIG Young Adult Babies"!

As a whole, all the students here are good. They are polite, they try very hard to respect one another, they try to make good choices and they are very eager to learn. All of the teachers and staff are good role models and set high standards for all students.

I received my BA degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina and my Masters and Doctorate from Atlanta University here in Atlanta. I am a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

I am the Grade Level Administrator for the sixth grade and enjoy helping students make that big transitional adjustment as they enter middle school. More importantly, I hope to help provide a safe environment for all students to learn and to help inspire our students to become productive citizens for tomorrow's world.

    My favorite poem:

The more you give, the more you get
The more you laugh, the less you fret
    The more you do UNSELFISHLY,
    The more you live ABUNDANTLY...

The more of everything you share,
The more you'll always have to spare
The more you love, the more you'll find
That life is good and friends are kind...

For only WHAT WE GIVE AWAY,
ENRICHES US FROM DAY TO DAY.
