HEALTH EDUCATION
In 8th grade health we will cover the following topics:
Substance Abuse

Mental and Social Health
Fitness
Nutrition                                                                                                                                   Human Sexuality

The students will have quizzes that cover each topic.  The Quizzes will count as 30% of their grade.  The students will have to complete a journal that will count as 20% of their grade and will be required to keep a notebook that will count as 10% of their grade.  All class work ( I do not give homework ) will count as 10% of the final grade.
The remaining 30% of their grade will be determined by their group presentation.  They will have to do an 8 to 12 minute presentation that contains 3 visual aides.  The students will be randomly placed in groups and will be assigned one of the following topics:
