I was born in the "Island of Enchantment" called Puerto Rico in the year #@$%.
Did you know that Puerto Rico is bilingual and that it is part of the United
States? That all "puertorriqueños" are U.S. citizens? In other words you can travel there to those
gorgeous beaches without a passport and with your american dollars. ¡Buen viaje! You will learn
more about it in chapters 5 and 6 of our Juntos Textbook.
This last summer was an incredible one for me. I traveled to Puerto Rico for two weeks to visit my
family, then went to London for five days and then to Salamanca for four weeks to finish my
masters in Language and Literature. It's been one of the best experiences of my life and one that I
learned a lot, not only about language but about culture as well. I am really excited to share this
with my students.
