The most
exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds the most
discoveries, is not "Eureka!", but "That's funny..."
Isaac Asimov

ABOUT MRS. BAKER:
I've been teaching at Taylor Road Middle School since 1996. I am a graduate of the University of Arizona (Go, Wildcats!), and I have a master's degree from Emory University. I taught in Waco, Texas, for 4 years before moving to the Atlanta area. I taught at Crabapple Middle School for a few years before moving to Savannah. While living in Savannah, I taught education courses at Armstrong Atlantic State University. In 1996, my family and I moved back to Alpharetta. I've been teaching at Taylor Road Middle School ever since!
I am involved in several extra-curricular activities at Taylor Road MS and Chattahoochee HS. I work with the Flute Choir at Taylor Road and the CHS Flute Ensemble. In addition to the ensembles, I work with the CHS Cougar Marching Band. I also sponsor and coach the Taylor Road Mathcounts Team, a problem-solving competition team for middle school students. I am also the webmaster for TRMS.
I have 3 children: a son who is a freshman at North Georgia College and State University, and twins, a boy and a girl, who are freshmen at Chattahoochee High School We are very busy going to soccer, cross-country training, music lessons, and music ensembles! When I'm not taking my kids to their activities, I enjoy playing my flute and reading a great book.
I have worked
with researchers from Georgia Tech implementing and refining a design-based science program
called Learning
by Design.
The program is now called Problem Based Inquiry, and I'm sure you will enjoy learning science through design!
