China Tour Guide Worksheet

Assignments:
BEFORE TRIP:
- Decide on places
to visit/background info.(Video: China and Tibet, Textbook, Media
Center, Computer lab)
- Draft an itinerary
and map of route. (Requirements:20 days long, 3-4 cities visited,
description of 15 sites minimum, 5 events that show the Chinese
way of life.)
- Contact a minimum
of 2 travel agencies to show comparative package deals. Determine
how much a travel package would cost and what it would include.
(Obtain phamplets or pictures.)
- Contact airlines
or use other sources to obtain information on airline fare.
- Construct a plane
ticket. Include airlines, date and time of departure, seating
and other information, such as how long the flight will last.
- Construct a passport.
(This will be stamped during your 'trip')
- Pack 'luggage'.
(You'll need magazines and other catalogues to cut out items
to 'pack'.)
- Travel Advisory
(Use Newsbank for current artivles on relations between China
and the US)
DURING TRIP:
- Take a minimum
of 5 'pictures' of places to prove you have been there. Include
captions and put yourself in some!
- Bring back (construct)
at least one restaurant menu.
- Save a minimum
of 2 tickets or other items to show the cultural events you attended.
- Write 2 travel
log entries: (The most fun I had was...; The insights I gained
from going...)
- Save at least 1
Yuan to show.
- Buy (construct)
at least 3 souvenirs to show everybody.
AFTER THE TRIP:
- Place all your
goodies (except souvenirs) into your photo album to treasure.

- Create a postcard
and send it to your family.
- Share photo albums
and souvenirs with classmates.
- Go
back to resource page.
